Today, I would like to write about how to use acupressure points to bring some extra glow to our faces. I am fascinated by this subject and am hoping that my fascination will get you more into "self-healing" power that I am gonna call "acupressure".
Before going into acupressure points on the face, I would like to present how these points work with my words. In order for anything to work, we -humans- need to let it work its magic or other words we need not to have any resistance towards it. We already know the power of what we believe affects us. In medical literature, it is called the placebo effect. I am sure that everyone knows what the placebo effect is by definition: " a beneficial effect produced by a placebo drug or treatment, which cannot be attributed to the properties of the placebo itself, and must therefore be due to the patient's belief in that treatment." Good to know, right!
Now, let's jump to what acupressure is. This ancient healing discipline comes from the idea of promoting "Qi" by applying pressure on minor and major meridian channels. There are several techniques for us to use for Qi flowing: tonifying, dispersing, or calming.
I would like to remind you that I am not an expert meaning not giving any medical advice. These are what I have learned and applied to myself. Although, acupressure is a self-healing method, people with high blood pressure or open wounds, scar tissue, varicose veins, or areas of inflammation or swelling and pregnant women are recommended to avoid acupressure.
After my grand opening statement, here we are. Please take a look at the picture. These points are the ones that will naturally lift up your face. Each pressure point also promotes the internal organs' vitality. Example:
Between the eyebrows:
* The third eye point - the energy center.
* Promotes liver vitality
* Prevents eyestrain, any discomfort
* Helps with headache, sinus congestion
* Improves the function of the pituitary gland in the brain
* Relaxes the central nervous system
* Removes emotional tension
How to use this point:
Spoiler: We naturally touch exactly this point when we are either physically or emotionally frustrated. Next time, pay attention!
For the purpose of promoting your skin and internal health, find the spot between your eyes that's just a little above your nose bridge, and gently press it for one minute while your eyes are closed and breathing freely as it comes and goes.
